Live Tooling Technical Performance Parameters
| Tooling Grade | Body Material | Max Runout Tolerance | Recommended Application |
| Standard‑grade driven holder | Quenched alloy structural steel | ≤0.005mm | General automotive and hardware milling tasks |
| High‑precision live tooling | Vacuum quenched premium alloy steel | ≤0.003mm | Medical and aerospace micro‑component machining |
| Coolant‑through live tool | High‑strength forged steel | ≤0.004mm | Hard‑alloy material high‑speed cutting |
| Custom‑angle rotary tool | Customer‑specified tool steel | Custom drawing tolerance | Special multi‑axis complex part processing |
Step‑by‑step Installation & Adjustment Instructions
1. Thoroughly clean the turret mounting surface and tool‑holder taper to remove metal chips and coolant residue.
2. Lock the live tool onto the turret with the recommended torque value; over‑tightening will deform the tool body.
3. Mount the ER collet and cutting tool, then use a dial indicator to test runout at the tool tip.
4. Adjust the gear meshing gap before formal production to avoid abnormal noise or vibration during high‑speed rotation.
5. Complete a trial‑cut test piece and verify workpiece dimension and surface finish before mass‑production.
Daily Maintenance Checklist
Clean the tool exterior after each shift; replenish high‑speed bearing lubricant regularly. Stop running the live tool immediately if you notice vibration, noise or runout deviation. Replace seals and bearing kits when coolant leakage occurs. Store disassembled live tooling in dry, dust‑proof storage boxes to prevent surface corrosion.
